Goals and Philosophy

Parents are a child’s first teachers and form the primary relationship in his or her life.  The goal of our preschool program is to work in partnership with parents in the nurture and training of their children.

Our curriculum  is based on the Emergent Curriculum (the Project Approach), in which Children are active participants in learning projects rather than passive observers by utilizing the children’s expressed interests, the teacher’s observations, and her knowledge of developmental stages.

Interaction between the teacher and the children will contribute to ideas to study throughout the year. Classes may cover the many fine motor, language, social, math, gross motor, literacy, and writing skills of preschool within any project. Play is also an important part of this approach to learning.
