Dr. Beeson and Mrs. Yoder

Mrs. Mary Ellen Yoder, who lived in her Kaufman Avenue home since 1970 decided in March to sell the home her husband, Henry (Hank) built, where they raised seven children.  Her home is adjacent to the property of Lake Center Christian School and has over four acres.  A Board Member approached Mrs. Yoder about selling her home to Lake Center Christian School when he heard she would be moving to The Homestead.

Dr. Joseph Beeson, Superintendent of Lake Center Christian School (LCCS), is very thankful for the legacy of 70 years at Lake Center Christian School. The school had the resources to purchase the home and acreage with the approval of the School Board and the Corporation Members.  The Corporation Members voted to proceed with purchasing the Yoder home in July.  Not every day does an opportunity arise for an organization to purchase property that will expand the campus in the future. The school has plans to expand the current campus and is in the process of developing a site plan to use the acreage to the best advantage for Lake Center Christian School.

The keys were transferred on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  Mrs. Yoder shared stories about the home and her property with Dr. Beeson, and other staff of Lake Center Christian School.  She was given some of her own roses to take back with her to her new residence. Thank you, Mrs. Yoder, for trusting Lake Center with your family home and allowing us to use it as an asset for the school community for years to come.
